CAF restores AFCON to a two-year cycle, with 2027, 2028, 2031 and 2033 editions confirmed
CAF has reversed its earlier plan for a four-year AFCON cycle and restored the tournament to a biennial schedule. Reports say the next editions are set for 2027 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, followed by 2028, 2031 and 2033. One report says CAF cited the time needed for the proposed Africa Nations League to generate substantial financial resources as part of the reason for the change.
