Qatar says Iran must show good faith for mediation and talks to succeed

Qatar said Iran must show good faith for mediation efforts to succeed after a Gulf Arab delegation visited Tehran earlier this week to help de-escalate regional tensions in coordination with the United States. A Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Iran should stop threatening Arab Gulf states and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar and Pakistan have been mediating between Washington and Tehran amid efforts to end the US-Israeli war on Iran and contain its wider spillover across the Middle East, while senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan also met Iranian officials in Tehran on Monday.
