US Warns Gulf States to Prepare for Possible New Iran Strikes After Midterms, WSJ Says
The United States has warned several Gulf Arab countries to prepare for a possible short, intense military campaign against Iran after the November 3 midterm elections, as Washington and Israel reportedly prepare for renewed strikes. The Wall Street Journal said the warnings were conveyed through diplomatic and military channels, and reported that President Donald Trump is leaning toward a major new attack that could target Iranian infrastructure and nuclear facilities, though no final decision has been made. The report also said the US military is moving a Patriot air defence system from Texas to bolster regional missile defences and relocating some personnel from vulnerable bases while replenishing ammunition stocks and preparing bombers.
