Suryakumar Yadav and former MLB stars take part in inaugural Mumbai baseball event

Indian cricket stars including Suryakumar Yadav and Shardul Thakur took part in the inaugural MLBx Mumbai 3-on-3 baseball event in Mumbai alongside former Major League Baseball players Nick Swisher, Jake Arrieta and Adrian Gonzalez. The event, aimed at helping grow baseball’s popularity in India, featured four teams named after historic MLB franchises, with the Yankees team — including Suryakumar and Swisher — emerging as winners. Thakur said baseball shares some similarities with cricket batting but requires different technique, and expressed hope for the sport’s growth in India.
